Client details
Bluecoat Sports are a health and fitness club on the outskirts of Horsham, West Sussex. They offer high quality, first class gym facilities, exercise classes and swimming facilities for their members. Part of Christ’s Hospital School, they are a not-for-profit fitness centre that puts all profits back into improving their facilities and towards scholarships for gifted students.
Bluecoat Sports are a longstanding client at britweb, having engaged our services for over 10 years. During this time we have undertaken the following digital marketing services:
- Two website builds
- Ongoing digital marketing
- Local SEO
- Paid social media advertising
- Email marketing
- General marketing help and advice
The challenge
After a tough couple of years for health and fitness clubs during the pandemic, Bluecoat Sports were looking to increase their memberships. To do this, they decided to run an offer which meant new members would pay nothing for one month, including no joining fees.
They used their own marketing knowledge to promote this to their members, using organic social media channels and adding a banner to the website. Bluecoat Sports needed assistance to further the reach of their campaign and attract new members to the club.
Our solution
We pitched running targeted Facebook and Instagram ads that would attract local residents with an interest in fitness. We directed users to a specific landing page which featured all of the details of the offer, the benefits of joining Bluecoat Sports and how to sign up.
The ad artwork was designed by the Bluecoats marketing team in house, and britweb:
- Wrote the ad copy
- Researched and found the right audience to target
- Created the ads
- Monitored and reported on the ads
As their team is very hands on with social media platforms and design, we were able to work closely and cohesively with their team to create a campaign that captured new users.
The results
The social media ads were run on two separate occasions across a few months, and cost £800 overall. The first campaign generated:
- 434 link clicks
- 31,512 reach
- 111 sessions to the site
- 72 membership sign ups
The second campaign was run in conjunction with their open day and generated:
- 1044 link clicks
- 36,239 reach
- 84 sessions to the site
- 120 membership sign ups
