Website redesign for Arunside Primary School
We built a new website for Arunside Primary School in Horsham, West Sussex. Their previous website was dated and not secure, so britweb stepped in to develop a replacement.
The client
Arunside Primary School, located in Horsham, has been providing quality education to children aged 4 to 11 for more than 50 years.
WIth a student body of over 400 pupils, the school maintains two classes within each year group, fostering a personalised learning environment.
Why britweb?
Arunside initially reached out to us due to their dissatisfaction with the support they were receiving from their current website hosting providers. They chose to work with britweb because of our status as a trusted local firm and our well-established reputation for delivering exceptional customer service in the region.
At the heart of this decision was Arunside’s desire for a hosting provider that not only offered technical expertise but also a personalised, client-centric approach, something they had found lacking with their previous service provider.
The challenge
After taking over the support and hosting for the site, we identified a number of security threats which made the site vulnerable to attack. As the site was using an outdated design theme, a complete site rebuild was in order.
Furthermore, the old site was cluttered and difficult to navigate, so the need for a rebuild presented an opportunity to improve the overall user experience, as well as the site’s security.
Our solution
- First, we migrated existing website content into a new, fully secure WordPress framework. This transition bolstered the site’s security and improved user experience. The new website boasted a more intuitive navigation and restructured page layout, ensuring visitors could easily find information.
- We crafted an inviting visual aesthetic that harmonised with Arunside’s core values of inclusivity, positive experiences, and educational excellence. This design provided an immediate visual representation of the school’s commitment to fostering a welcoming and nurturing environment for all.
- Recognising the diverse and inclusive nature of Arunside Primary School, we implemented a multi-language capability to accommodate the school’s varied community.
- We introduced ‘mega menu’ functionality, allowing users to navigate through various sections of the website and access important content with ease. This enhancement significantly improved the overall user experience.
- Finally, we added a Parents Portal login to the website. This served as a secure gateway to access non-public information.
Our work contributed to a website that met the school’s objectives and showcased it as a modern, forward-thinking school committed to excellence. The scale of our success is exemplified by the positive feedback received from the school and the increased engagement and accessibility that the new website provides.
