The Client
Horsham Matters is a community-driven charity marking its 20th anniversary this year, supporting individuals and families facing financial hardship.
Through a network of foodbanks, community cafés, the Love it Again charity shop, and other support services, Horsham Matters provides both immediate relief and long-term solutions, helping people not only meet urgent needs, but move towards greater stability and independence.

Working with and supporting a local business that understood and embedded within the Horsham community was also very important to them from both a communication and a sustainability perspective. The Challenge
Horsham Matters needed a website that reflected the scale, professionalism, and impact of its work.
The existing site struggled to clearly communicate a wide range of services, making it harder for users to quickly find the help they needed. At the same time, opportunities to drive donations, increase volunteer sign-ups, and engage the wider community weren’t being fully realised.
Crucially, the website also needed to strike the right tone, balancing clarity and usability with a compassionate, non-judgemental approach for those accessing support.
Some of the primary objectives were to:
- Improve clarity of the “Get Help” journey to reduce barriers for people in urgent need
- Increase donations by making giving opportunities more visible across the site
- Modernise the online presence to better reflect the charity’s 20-year legacy

We delivered a streamlined, user-first website designed around the needs of three core audiences: those seeking help, those looking to support, and those wanting to learn more.
Clear navigation and simplified content structure ensure users can quickly access key information, particularly within the “Get Help” journey, where speed and clarity are critical.
We refined the messaging throughout the site to make services easier to understand, while reinforcing the charity’s values. We spent time with, and really got to know the team, which helped us to translate their warm tone where it matters.
